 There are various ways of transportation to travel such as road, rail,
air and river cruise while visiting our country.
Most of the visitor used to travel by road and air while some are interested
to take a river cruise on great and famous Ayeyarwaday River between ancient
capital Mandalay and Bagan. The visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the
river and the life on its banks.
Later some visitors hired a small private owned boat for traveling
upstream the Ayeyarwady River to visit towns like Bamaw and Myintkyeenar,
located in the northern part.
Most of the FIT (Foreign Independent Traveler) visitors usually utilize
private owned cars, buses and train to cover their trip and some used the
air routes. The Package Tour visitors normally used air routes, which seems
to be more convenient of them.
There are some places where foreigners must take permission from the
government authorities for calling to these areas. If the foreign visitors
(tourist) wish to visit, application is to be submitted one month ahead
before the visiting day to get approval.
There are some places, which is not convenient to travel whole year
around, especially in rainy season.
For the city tours, taxis are available in big towns, where in small
towns, blue four wheel taxis, horse carts, trishaws and bicycles can be
hired easily.
