Yangon
Division
Yangon is situated in southern part
of Myanmar and close boarder with Bago Division,
Motama Sea, Ayeyarwaddy Division and Bay of Bengal.
It is located between north latitude 16 degrees 20
minutes and 17 degrees 50 minutes and between east
longitude 95 degrees
45 minutes and 96 degrees 50 minutes. The total area
is 3927 sq miles with the population of 5.5 million.
Yangon is the capital of Yangon Division and the
people living are of various races including Indians
and Chinese who migrate long ago.

Yangon is near to the sea and the temperature is
between 80 degrees to 100 degrees F of moderate
climate. The year round average rainfall is 103".
How to go there Yangon International Airport and Mandalay
International Airport are the main gateways and
there are regular daily flights to Yangon from
Bangkok and Singapore. The domestic airlines,
Myanmar Airways, Yangon Airways and Air Mandalay
regularly connect Yangon to Mandalay, Bagan, Heho,
Kyaingtong, Tachileik, Thandwe, Kawthang and to
other tourist destinations.
Yangon
Yangon,
the capital city is the main gateway to Myanmar. It

three sides by water; Pazundaung Creek, Hlaing River
and Bago River. Yangon covers over 350sqkm and has a
population of over 5 million. Evergreen and cool
with lush tropical trees, shady parks and beautiful
lakes, Yangon has earned the name of the Garden City
of the East. Yangon was founded by King Alaungpaya
on the site of a small village called Dagon when he
conquered Lower Myanmar in 1755. The name Yangon
means "End of Strife" which was anglicized to Rangoo.
The present day Yangon covers over 350 sq km and has
a population of over 5 million. Yangon is perhaps
the last authentic example of an Asian tropical city
still featuring its former colonial origins, huge
parks shady trees and lakes and its religious
monuments. Of those monuments, the most legendary,
graceful and majestic of all, is the Shwedagon
Pagoda built around 2500 years ago.
