Tanintharyi Division
It is situated in southern part of Myanmar and close boarder with Mon State, Andaman Sea. It is located on north latitude between 9 degrees 30 minutes and 15 degrees 05 minutes and east longitude between 97 degrees 40 minutes and 97 degrees 40 minutes. The total area is 16735 sq miles. The population is 1.5 million. The people living are Myanmar, Kayin, Mon, Pashu and in Mayeik Salon. Dawei and Kawthaung are the capitals of Tanintharyi Division.

How to go there
You can reach there by car, train and air from Yangon. Traveling by air is more convenient.
Dawei
Dawei is the capital of Tanintharyi Division in the south of Myanmar. It was founded in 1750 AD. Dawei longyi (sarong) is famous among the Myanmar. The area produces rubber, dried fish and teakwood. There is also and ore refinery at Kamyawkin Smelting Plant nearby. It is situated about 614.3km south of Yangon on the northern bank of the Dawei River. You can travel by car, air route from Yangon is about 50 minutes. A place of interest is Maungmagan Beach Resort, famous for its clear blue water and white sands. It is situated 4.8km northwest of Dawei.
