Division
Bago Division is situated in the southern part of
Myanmar and close border with Kayin State, Mon State,
Motama Sea, Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy Division and Rakhine
State. The area is 15214 sq miles with population of 5
million and mostly Myanmar people live there along with
Kayin, Mon, Shan and Pa aing. The capital is Bago, Pyay
and Taungoo. Bago is one of the archaeological sites in
Myanmar. Nearest ancient city to Yangon and the royal
capital of the Mon Kingdom (15th century) known as
Hamsavaddy (Hanthawaddy).
Weather Condition
Bago
is also a wide Division and the climate varies from
place to place. The average temperature is 87 degree F
to 75 degree F and the rainfall yearly is 130". The
rainfall is 83" in Taungoo and 47" in Pyay.
How to go there It is the main hub for
transportation to the whole of Myanmar. It is located 80
km from Yangon. Can visit by car 2 hours from Yangon.
