Day
(1) Yangon-Bago-Taungoo
Breakfast. Early morning, drive out of Yangon
to the Ancient Capital of Mon Kingdom, Bago (Pegu),
about 80 kilometres northeast of Yangon. On arrival in
Bago, visit Kyaikpun Pagoda with four 30 meter
high Buddha figures seated back to back. Then, continue
to visit the local market and then go to see
Shwemawdaw Pagoda which has a stupa inlaid with
diamonds and is Bago's golden landmark. Continue to
Shwethalyaung Buddha, which dates from 994 and is
revered throughout Myanmar as the most beautiful
Reclining Buddha. Take a look at wood carving, and then
see Kalyani Sima Ordanation Hall. Visit also
Mahazedi Pagoda with its impressive bell-shaped
stupa. From Bago, drive through seemingly endless paddy
fields to the small town of Taungoo. Overnight at
Taungoo.
Day
(2) Taungoo-Elephant Camp
Get up early in morning and leave to Elephant
Camp in the morning and learn how elephants are working
for the logging process. Overnight at the elephant camp.
Day
(3) Elephant Camp Excursion
Off-road cross jungle tirp from the elephant
camp to Shwe-Daung-Ngwe-Daung Village, study old Karen
tradition and learn how they have to struggle to survive
in the jungle. Overnight at Shwe-Daung-Ngwe-Daung
Village.
Day (4) Elephant Camp-Pyay
Off-road trip from Shwe-Daung-Ngwe-Daung
Village to Pyay. Overnight in Pyay .
Day (5) Pyay S/S-Yangon
Breakfast.
Depart your hotel early morning for the long drive to
Pyay. Lunch at (very) local restaurant on the
way. Late Afternoon, arrive in Pyay. This afternoon,
visit the Shwemyetmhan Pagoda which is home to
most unusual Buddha image-one who wears gold-rimmed
spectacles. After then busy market, a cheroot making
factory and Shwesandaw pagoda. This pagoda is
similar in design to Shwezigon in Bagan, and is one of
the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage spots in Myanmar. An
enormous seated Buddha figure rises up from the tree
line adjacent to Shwesandaw. Continue to drive to Yangon
to see the paddy field and countryside's. Late evening
arrive at Yangon, overnight in Yangon.
